DWC stands for Deep Water Culture. As long as the water is well aerated and stays cooler than 25 degrees to ensure the air will stay in solution, roots can grow in the tank.

It comes with 4 baskets, a 4 outlet air pump, and a large 110Litre tank. Clay balls will suit this system and we will include enough to fill the baskets at no extra cost when purchasing Grow research nutrients to run the system.

Baskets are located above a continuous stream of air bubbles.

Oxygen levels must stay high for DWC to work - so keep in a cool spot. Above 21 degrees, oxygen will start reducing, and above 25 degrees very little air will be available even if the bubblers are working hard. Setup in a cool environment, use Grow Research Drive for microbial root rot protection. If any brown roots, contact us for advice. Many growers will use an aquarium chiller to keep oxygen high. The more Oxygen is available at the roots, the faster uptake of nutrients and water.

Temperature is not as critical in coco, clay and other media-based systems as media have oxygen between the particles, and also insulate the roots from heat and cold better than DWC systems.
